BIA Dakar Celebrates 20 Years of Partnership and Growth in Senegal
2026-10-09

On June 11, 2026, BIA Dakar celebrated an important milestone in its journey: twenty years of commitment alongside its customers, partners, and employees in Senegal.

The anniversary brought together long-standing customers, OEM partners, and BIA representatives to reflect on key milestones, recognize the progress achieved over the years, and reaffirm a shared ambition for the future.

Twenty Years Supporting Customer Performance

Since establishing operations in Senegal, BIA Dakar has grown around a strong conviction: supporting customers over the long term by providing equipment, services, and expertise that directly contribute to the performance of their operations.

Across the mining, quarrying, construction, and energy sectors, BIA teams have built lasting relationships based on proximity, equipment availability, high-quality after-sales support, and responsiveness in the field.

Over the years, this customer-focused approach has helped create a strong network of trust, laying the foundations for shared growth with the entire local ecosystem.

A Success Driven by the People of BIA

During the celebration, several speakers highlighted that this collective success is first and foremost the result of the commitment of BIA teams, the trust of customers, and the strength of partnerships built over time.

Romain Bia, CEO of BIA Group, shared:

"I have witnessed a remarkable transformation of BIA Dakar. Today's leaders and the new generation taking over are ensuring that BIA continues to grow in Senegal, and I am proud of that because I can clearly see that our values remain strong."

Fatoumata Ly, Managing Director of BIA Dakar, added:

"This celebration is not only about the past; it is also a promise for the future. Beyond the results, it is the people of BIA Dakar who are our greatest strength every day."

Trust as a Driver of Performance

Among the testimonials shared during the event, the experience of Cheikh Dièye, CEO of Transport Dièye, perfectly illustrated the value of a long-term partnership.

The collaboration between Transport Dièye and BIA began in 2022 with the acquisition of two machines for operations at Sabodala. Since then, the partnership has expanded through a maintenance contract and the deployment of a dedicated technical team on site.

"None of our Komatsu machines are out of operation, whereas with other brands downtime rates can reach 50%. The cost of equipment downtime is far greater than the cost of maintenance, which makes this partnership extremely valuable. The level of responsiveness is exceptional."

Beyond operational performance, this testimony also highlights BIA's commitment to supporting every customer, regardless of the size of their business, and its determination to build relationships based on listening, proximity, and trust.

Today, the partnership continues to grow alongside the expansion of Transport Dièye's mining and quarrying activities, including the recent delivery of a Metso plant.

Industrial Partners Committed Alongside BIA

The celebration also provided an opportunity to bring together several leading OEM partners, including Komatsu, Metso, and Bomag.

Their presence reflects the strength of the industrial partnerships developed over the years and a shared commitment to delivering reliable, innovative, and customer-focused solutions that meet operational needs.

Building the Future on Strong Foundations

Beyond the anniversary itself, the event served as a reminder of what has made BIA Dakar successful over the past twenty years: lasting relationships, local expertise, and a constant commitment to supporting customers in their most ambitious projects.

Twenty years after its arrival in Senegal, BIA Dakar continues its mission with the same ambition: helping customers improve productivity, safety, and operational performance while building long-term partnerships that create sustainable value.

Thank you to all our customers, partners, and employees who have contributed to this journey. Together, we continue to write the BIA story in Senegal and prepare for the next decades of growth and shared success.
