BIA Group is pleased to announce the release of its Sustainability Report 2024, presenting a detailed overview of the Group’s progress, priorities, and commitments in the field of sustainable development.
This third edition outlines our actions across four strategic pillars: Climate & Environment, Innovation & Value-added Services, People & Safety, and Local Impact & Communities.
In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), BIA Group has adopted a structured and iterative approach to assess and manage the environmental, social, and economic impacts of its operations. The methodology is based on internal assessments and participatory workshops conducted in 2021 and 2022, which helped identify key risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
A strategic priority for the Group
“Sustainability is part of our core corporate values,” states Romain Bia in his foreword. “Over the past years, we have established strong sustainability foundations, the results of which are already clearly visible. But we are also conscious of the way ahead to fulfil our growing sustainable ambitions for the future.”

Key Achievements in 2024
- Completion of a Group-wide Carbon Footprint baseline, covering all BIA entities and territories.
- Continued development of eco-efficient technologies and proprietary services such as SmartFleetDX and Overhaul/Rebuild programmes.
- Achievement of Zero Accidents across mining sites for the third consecutive year.
- Expansion of local impact initiatives, including employment, education, and community empowerment across Africa.
The report also sets the foundation for future ambitions, with sustainability remaining central to the Group’s new corporate strategy in 2025.
